The Pubs of Seaton

These pubs are basically in the town centre with the exception of The Kings Arms which is a few hundred yards out of town but nevertheless well worth a visit.

Situated right on the seafont it seems to open from about 2 pm most days but you can never be 100% certain. 

Has a nice sea side terrace where you can sit and have a drink. Pretty small inside.

Claims to be a sports and music bar and unless you knew it was there notwithstanding it being only a stones throw from the seafront it is easy to miss it. Head towards town and at the zebra crossing by the banking hub cross over and turn right. The entrance is there.

It is bigger inside than it looks from the outside as it goes back a fair way. Very much a "locals" pub.

The same owner has The Old Pictures house I believe.

Probably the largest pub in Seaton to find it from, say, the banking hub near the seafront simply walk around the corner where the baking hub is away from The Vault and just keep going on the pavement. You will find it just beyond the roundabout on the right.

It is a nice place and has a nice verandah but sadly no sea view. Half of it is pub and the other half was a picture house and retains some of these aspects but is more a function room. They have live music on occasionally. Closes in the winter.

The Malt House is a fairly large pub at the bottom of Fore Street the main high street in Seaton. There is outside seating in the square out the front.

Inside you will find losts of seating and the usual ales and other drinks.

Head in to Seaton town centre and at The Malt House in the square bear left up the hill and this pub will be found on the left.

OK so it is a hotel but the front bar is very much a pub and if full you can take your drinks through to the quieter rear bar. The prices for drinks are in keeping with pub prices, food is more in the hotel price set and the back bar doubles as the dining room.

This one is a wee bit outside the town centre but well worth a visit.

Head in to the town and walk up the main high street (Fore Street). Once on Fore Street keep going and following your nose! At the roundabout go straight on and although it looks like a road just full of houses on the right is The Kings Arms.

The inside front bar looks like it has not changed in years and out the back is a newer extension. The garden out back is enormous and has far reaching views over the Axe Valley and you can even see the trams going in and out of town in the distance. If you are lucky you might even get to see the Llamas that live there! 

Yes they really do have Llamas in the back garden
