Axmouth Old Bridge
To find Axmouth Old Bridge leave Fisherman's Gap to your left and walk along the promenade to the far end. Then turn down Trevelyan Road past the (actually quite interesting) flats on your right and at the end, by the Chinese Restaurant, turn right.
Walk along here on the pavement and note the former toll house (see below) on the left hand side of the road.
Immediatly before the road bridge the pavement splits and the old bridge may be accessed here to the right.
Axmouth Old Bridge
OK, so it IS historic, but in truth it is fairly dull.
Closed to cars in 1990, so pedestrians only may use it (you lucky people) it takes you from Seaton to Axmouth.
It is a scheduled monument and grade II* (* no less) listed building and just on the Seaton side of it on the main road is Bridge Cottage the former toll house for the bridge which was built at the same time and is a listed building in it's own right.
