Walk the Seaton Promenade and visit the beach
The Seaton Promenade
Probably the best thing about Seaton is the fantastic view out to sea, the one mile long promenade and the lovely beach, which sadly is stones not sand.
Were it to be sand it would be the busiest beach in the UK, sadly because it is stones it is not and as such it is never busy, even in the height of summer.
Leaving from Fisherman's Gap head to your right and here you will find an ice cream kiosk, toilets (you have to pay), a line of beach huts (summer only) and then at the far end the aptly named "Hideaway" cafe (closed in the winter).
Some Things to do in Seaton
Leaving Fishermans Gap to your left is the main length of promenade which has perhaps less attractions as such but is sill a very nice walk.
There are plenty of benches where you can rest up a while and advire the wonderful view out to sea, but whatever you do do not look to your left, or inland, as you walk along the first stretch, frankly it is grim (correct 2026).
There is a derelict pub and a half built block of flats where the developer has gone bust (again correct 2026), and some closed public toilets interspersed between some rather nice cafés.

Once you get beyond the half built flats the attractions end but the view at least gets better.
Walking towards the far end there is The Spot On a takeway selling burgers etc. and ice creams but the only seating there to inbibe your purchases are on the sea front benches.

Beyond the take away is the harbour such as it is and beyone that the concrete bridge and Axmouth.
